SkyDrive app for Windows Phone update 2.0

New features include a batch-select tool to make moving files around easier while on the go, the ability to directly manage folder permissions and the quick sharing of files with approved recipients in your People Hub. Version 2.0 is currently available for download in the Marketplace — even for low-end Windows Phones.

In other news, Microsoft has revealed pricing for its just-launched Skydrive app on Windows desktops, setting you back $10, $25, or $50 a year for an additional 20GB, 50GB or 100GB. Scrapped in the process is the 25 gigs of free storage that Microsoft once offered to new users, now dropping that pro-bono capacity to just 7GBs, save for the lucky few that opted in before the company announced its new pricing structure.

Vodafone first carrier to Samsung Galaxy bandwagon, Samsung’s next handset to be graced with the Galaxy moniker, and we’ve just gotten one more tidbit. Other than the event invite Sammy sent out last week and a recent video teaser, official info on the handset’s been hard to come by. However, Vodafone’s just put up a page indicating the carrier will, indeed, get the new superphone and is letting you register for updates on its status.

HTC One V Review And Price Rs. 16699

Launching as an Ice Cream Sandwich device, the HTC One V offers three capacitive controls across the bottom of the display: back, home and recent apps. In terms of physical controls you have a volume rocker on the right-hand side and the standby button on the top. The Micro-USB connection allows for charging or data transfer.

This is the conventional arrangement for the One series devices, but on this bottom rung device you’ll find another difference. The HTC One V uses a regular SIM and has a microSD card slot, so you can easily expand the internal storage over the minimal 4GB that the phone comes with.

The display is a 3.7-inches, with 800 x 480 pixel, typical for this level of device. It is a nice display and although you don’t get the same sort of high pixel density as you do on top-tier devices, the 252ppi looks sharp enough. Elsewhere the display is nice and vibrant, so content looks good, even if everything is a little over-saturated.

HTC One S Review And Price Rs.27000

HTC use not one but two advanced processes to create the metal shell of the One S. The micro arc oxidation uses 10,000V of electricity to turn the aluminum surface into ceramic, which is said to be five times stronger than aerospace aluminum or stainless steel. That creates the black finish of the phone.

The second option is a more traditional anodized aluminum, but with a twist – it has a unique, subtle gradient from medium to dark grey.

Whichever bodywork you choose, the 7.8mm of thickness is even throughout – no cheating with bumps on the back. The HTC One S feels startlingly thin in the hand.

There was no compromise with the internals either – the two Krait cores in the new Snapdragon S4 chipset promise much more power than the old Scorpion cores. Early benchmarks show it could even rival a quad Cortex-A9 CPU.

Key features

Stunningly thin at 7.8mm, ceramic or anodized aluminum finish

Quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G support

4.3″ 16M-color capacitive Super AMOLED touchscreen of qHD resolution (540 x 960 pixels); Gorilla glass

1.5 GHz dual core Krait CPU, Adreno 225 GPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260A chipset

1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage

Beats audio enhancement

8 MP autofocus camera with LED flash; face detection, geotagging and continuous shooting

1080p video recording @ 30fps; Snapping photos while recording video

Wi-Fi b/g/n and DLNA

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Review And Price

Most of the tablets on the market are powered by dual-core chipsets, and the new Galaxy Tab 7.7 will have no trouble blending in. Scratch that. Some of its peers may find it hard to keep up. Sure, it will soon be looking at some quad-core slates fast approaching in the rear view mirror, but that time is yet to come. The Exynos SoC with those twin 1.4GHz cores is more than sufficient for a 7-inch device by our books.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7 so special is the screen and the compact form factor. This is the first and only tablet to use a Super AMOLED Plus display and – you don’t have to take our word – it looks gorgeous. Equally, if not more importantly, this is the only tablet to feature a 7.7″ screen. So, is it Samsung’s insistence on finding an empty niche where no one else in their right mind will care to look or is the Galaxy Tab 7.7 really that special

Key features

7.7″ 16M-color Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen of WXGA resolution (1280 x 800 pixels)

Quad-band GPRS/EDGE and quad-band 3G with HSPA connectivity (HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps)

Nokia X2-02 Latest Phone Review And Price

The Nokia X2-02 has some real nice treats for all of you who like surprises.

It’s been nothing short of an invasion. Nokia’s dual-SIMs cover every step of the entry-level segment. You can learn the ropes on the most basic S30 phones, before moving on to Touch and Type. Dual-SIM has a prominent place in the fresh Asha series too.

Nokia X2-02

It’s a respectable lineup, in which the X2-02 stands out. It’s not about being the best-equipped phone of the bunch. The X2-02 gets around it by focusing on a single skill and really going the distance with it.
